  I have some friends who have made recommendations for fertility counseling, but they have all gone through a more traditional form of family building.  Has anyone here had experience with both traditional counselors, and counselors whose practice focuses more on non-traditional families?  Was there a difference in your experience between the two?

  A good counselor should be comfortable with both traditional and non-traditional families. If you feel like the counselor doesn't quite "get" your relationship, I think that's a good sign you need a different counselor.
