Can a Father's Insurance Cover Fertility Treatments?

I've been spending some time with a local woman here in the US who I think might end up being my ideal co-parent.  However, she works for herself and doesn't have any health insurance of her own. I'm wondering if my health insurance could be used to pay for the costs of fertility treatments even though we're not married?  How have others without health insurance dealt with paying for fertility treatments?

Take a look at your insurance policy - each policy is very different - some might cover a "partner" but I bet most won't. You might consider getting her health insurance of her own as that might end up being a lot cheaper than paying out-of-pocket for fertility doctors.
